Draft talk:The credibility of the photographic image
Dear Alexander,
It was a pleasure enjoying your participation in the seminar "A Journey through Philosophy. What do you know when you get information?" I've seen you have delve into the difficulties of capturing reality, which is certainly not the same than knowing or achieving truths, but it's oriented to it with respect to a reality we have no access to, and this concerns a significant extent of what we call information. However, you didn't consider the lasting philosophical debate of the deceiving senses (and here we are inserting an additional mediation).
I hope that through the considerations of the topics held during the lectures, the open discussions, and particularly through your own inquiries, you got to appreciate the importance of embracing a critical stance towards what simply has the appearance of being the case. Pitifully there's a lot of mis- and dis-information around and it is important to keep critical.
I wish you a successful career, and in case you think I may be of any help don't hesitate to contact me. All the best,
