The attitude of a researcher who reserves a special position for him- or herself.
Such a way would imply that the observer tries to put her or himself as possessing an absolute ontological certainty (G. DEVEREUX's “Olympian stance”). This cannot work when the researched subject or system is endowed with some degree or autonomy. Only “trivial machines” in von FOERSTER sense can be truly specified (and constructed) by an observer.
