“A system event that is deterministically caused by another event” (R.L. ACKOFF, 1972).

The causal event is thus necessary, but also sufficient to produce the change of state. In such cases, the behavior of the system is strictly passive: it has no possibility to modify it, i.e. it is in a no autonomous situation.
