Sociobiology is concerned with the behavioral interactions among members of the same species.
It has been a controversial subject since its appearance.
This seems to have resulted in part of its uses for explaining human behavior without much reference to the complexity of human brain and mind, which obviously vexed some sensibilities.
However, while men and mankind are an extreme case of a socially organized species, precisely because of the impact of higher mental faculties, theemergence of socialization in man is a result of synergistic effects , which are present since the lesser levels of life (P. CORNING, 1998b) and even possibly at the chemical and physical levels (C. BRESCH, 1977) .
