Reciprocity is, of course, possible only when the relationship is sufficiently repetitive.
Such a situation exists, for instance, in specifically connected neurons in neural networks , or in people interacting frequently with each others in groups of limited size .
It generally seems to be a pre-condition for the shaping of wider cooperation in social systems , human or other.
Reciprocity is of course a feedback , and can be positive as well as negative, in both senses of an acceleration or decelaration process , or its favorable or unfavorable results, in a psycho-sociological meaning . (See: A. RAPOPORT on Games theory, 1959)
