“ The set of states onto which transitions are defined” (K. KRIPPENDORFF, 1986, p.63).

A problem with many processes in concrete systems is that their range is ill-defined or not defined at all, and difficult to establish. This complicates decision-making, and still more so when the range is not stable. A good present example is the hypothetical range of the greenhouse effect in global and regional climate.
