This term has been proposed by QUASTLER in his paper “General Principles of System Analysis” (see BLAUBERG et al., p.163).

It appears somewhat anthropomorphic, even if the genetic code in a living system could be an example as well as the basic set of values in a human group or the by-laws that reflect these values and constraint activities.
