T.ÖREN describes the elements and basic functions of such a machine, as follows:
(1990, p.23).
While one must be careful using certain terms (as for example “memory”), it is interesting to see, how, as time goes on, the “machine” on its ways towards “intelligence”, acquires the same (or similar) functions as natural intelligence… or how we are learning about the second one by studying the first one.
Let us remember anyway that ÖREN tends to assimilate “knowledge” with “information” and that knowledge is used in this context in the sense of what an expert system contains and how it can be used: see B. ZEIGLER on “internal representation” (1976).
