A connection between two elements .

Links are probably the most basic features of all kinds of systems from physics to sociology.

Graph theory describes numerous types of links and their more interesting interconnections , in linkages and gives a good understanding of networks

Links are structural , but correspond also to dynamical features in networks and/or systems. In graphs, this is made clear by giving them an orientation represented by an arrowhead. Structural and dynamical aspects are of course complementary.
