M. MINSKY and O. SELFRIDGE (1960) proposed the following method: “In a novel situation try methods (parameter adjustment, network organizations) like those which have worked best in similar situations” (quoted by G. PASK, 1961, p.83).
This may be a quite useful method, but it is not very innovative.
M. MINSKY, in particular, around 1960, as a critic of F. ROSENBLATT's perceptron, was not optimistic about the practical possibility of evolutionary self-learning or self-organizing networks, which are based on loose behavioral rules, and not on precise and limited algorithms.
