P. BERG- and M. DUBOIS state: “A nonlinear dynamic system that oscillates on three incommensurable frequencies may become unstable and show a chaotic behavior” (1992, p.120).

The subject of incommensurability deserves wider research because it is a bridge between chaos and prime numbers. Intertwined periods each with a frequency based on a prime number could be the basic characteristic of chaos.

This could also prove an interesting return to PYTHAGORAS and FIBONACCI.
