That growth be generally unequal in different directions is a basic condition for differentiation.

One cause of directional growth is expressed by Template:Ency person: “Growth becomes directional if, on one side of a minimal Template:Ency term unit, free Template:Ency term are more readily available than on the other sides” (1967, p.54).

Template:Ency person also states: “With the initiation of Template:Ency term growth, … a plan of Template:Ency term of the Template:Ency term is laid down” (p.55).

This is the Template:Ency term cause of directional growth. It is difficult to pinpoint internal conditions of the growing system that may lead to the same Template:Ency term, but their existence is doubtless, at least in biological and Template:Ency term. Internal Template:Ency term growth is probably related to the different Template:Ency term of Template:Ency term Template:Ency term and of spatial Template:Ency term available for Template:Ency term at different times.

Template:Ency person's Template:Ency term of Template:Ency term illustrate the subtle Template:Ency term of Template:Ency term, as applied on Template:Ency term, which lead to directional growth.
