Object type Methodology or model

The dynamic stability area in space and time wherein the processes of a system remain constrained.

This concept has been introduced by C.S. HOLLING (1986) in order to specify the limits of resilience of a system. It closely corresponds to the concept of domain of attraction (possibly Markovian or even chaotic).

At its boundaries, the domain of residence also expresses the resistence of a system to contraction under perturbations produced by its environment.
