- “That part of the process of design that is indifferent to what is being designed, being applicable whatever the target may be” (J. WARFIELD, pers. comm.).
To generic design, WARFIELD opposes specific design, “that part of the process of design that is particular to the target class” (Ibid).
Targets can be for example a product, or a system that, in turn, can be “tangible or intangible”.
