A higher level cycle, superposed on lesser levels ones, that acts as a general process regulator (see fig.)

This model has been introduced by K. STEINBUCH (1974, p. 112). It gives a quite clear understanding of J.van GIGCH's control by recursion .

This very general model can be observed in many behavioral situations.
