The original ordering of the first elements of a celluler automaton.
P. GREUSSAY comments about the dynamics of the automaton: “The set of the states of the cells is the 'genetic material' of the initial configuration… Self reproduction is actively directed by the initial configuration itself, though a transitions function” (1988, p.1322).
This function depends on a transition rule or set of rules, as for example in MARUYAMA's deviation amplification mutual causal processes or in J. CONWAY's games of life.
