LENA-MARIA STUPITZKY (1996) is a Munich-based designer, working at the intersection of art and design. In her projects design becomes a method to communicate, generate, and explore knowledge. Lena-Maria investigates different dimensions of aesthetics and politics in design. For instance, her projects „Cohabiting with the Spirits,“ designing digital media is not considered as the creation of solutions, but rather to become binary distinctions, to discover hidden perspectives, and enact new narratives. Hence, design appears, as a multi-modal, socio-material thinking, talking and making. Many of her works have a reference to agriculture, as she grew up with animals. The works often deal with life and its harshness, as life with many animals always presupposes death and transience. In addition to independent artistic projects, Lena-Maria is working as a freelancer in different fields of design, like photography, branding, layout, and exhibition. She has worked with different local Museums and exhibition spaces, like Stadtmuseum Fürstenfeldbruck, or the Jexhof Museum. Lena-Maria is a member of the Crembach collective, whose projects advocate an integrative art scene. As part of the collective, Lena-Maria was presented at DOCUMENTA 15 in the project "NO MEASUREMENT".
Currently she is studying Communication Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich. She previously studied communication design and media at the University of Applied Sciences in Wismar. In her education Lena-Maria focusses on Photography, Layout and Illustration. Lena-Maria is working at a studio space in Gabriele Space at Ridlerstraße 13/15 in Munich's Westend. https://stupkodesign.com
