As leit-motiv for the celebration of the 100th anniversity of Karl Ludwig von BERTALANFFY, Prof. ELOHIM (Technical University, Vienna) reproduced the following texts of this founder of the systems movement:

“The overall fate of the world depends on the adoption by humanity of a new set of values , based on a general systems Weltanschauung (worldview), and …

(We must seek)“ another basic outlook: the world as organization , (which) would profoundly change the categories of our thinking and influence our practical attitudes, as we must envision the biosphere as a whole - with mutually reinforcing or mutually destructive interdependencies

In his introductory manifest for the celebration meeting at the Vienna Technological University- which took place in 2001- Prof. Elohim collected supporting or coincident opinions and views to BERTALANFFY's ones. Among these are notes and papers by Janet M. EATON, C.H. WADDINGTON, L. MUMFORD, R. HUTCHINGS, L. EISELEY, N. COUSINS and A. EINSTEIN.
