Object type General information, Methodology or model

Any variable exogenous to the system considered, which exerts an influence on it.

Some environmental variables are easily and generally perceived. Some others remain ignored or occult.

The system's equilibrium, and even sometimes its survival may however depend on a correct perception, and eventual satisfactory management of the responses of the system to some critical environmental variable. Consequently their monitoring is important to verify that they remain within limits compatible with the system's needs and to decide some adaptive action.
