The duration under which a process or a system is active.
Systems have very variable duration. Their transformations in time can obey different rhythms at different moments of their existence.
In some cases they may extent their time domain in an implicit way for a long span after their apparent disappaerance, as conveyed by H. PRAT's concept of aura.
