“… a purposeful system which, on attainment of any of its goals or objectives, then seeks another goal and objective, which more closely approximates its ideal” (R.L. ACKOFF, 1972).

According to ACKOFF: “An ideal-seeking system is thus one which has a concept of 'perfection' or the 'ultimate desirable' and pursues it systematically; that is in interrelated steps” (Ibid).

Some question marks remain:

1. what is “perfection” or the “ultimate desirable”?

2. and, if it can be defined, in which way can the system construct it?
