G. KLIR proposes the following conditions as needed for a satisfactory description (in his word “definition”) of any system:

“1. It should be based on characteristics traits which we assume to be completely known.
“2. It should be based only on constant traits, since we do not want to consider a change of temporary traits as a change of the system.
“3.It should be based only on those traits by means of which it is possible to determine all the other (secondary) constant traits; i.e., the definition must neither be overdetermined, nor underdetermined” (1965, p.32).

These conditions are important for KLIR's reconstructability analysis.
