W. ULRICH advocates a “Critical systems heuristics” in order to maintain a continuous reflection on the inevitably partial character of our understanding and design of complex human systems.
ULRICH enounces “Twelve Critically-Heuristic Categories of Pragmatic Mapping” to be used to obtain a good representation of human systems, including motivation, control, expertise, and legitimation from the different viewpoints of those affected and those involved. (1983, p.244-64).
