The model of a system at a given moment.

This expression was proposoed by B. BANATHY (1973, p.88).

It is quite useful since this 'snapshot' view is by nature repetitive and helps to visualize the continuously changing character of the system.

Of course, it also helps to understand that such a still-life and static image of the system is, if not repetitive, very misleading.
