Object type General information, Methodology or model

The capability of an object to observe itself.

In the case of human beings, this could be the root of consciousness.

However R. GLANVILLE states that “Every object is a self-observer” (1978, p.303), a quite enigmatic statement in the case of non-animated objects .

GLANVILLE adds: “Some objects observe other objects . Some objects are observed by other objects . However an object can be non-other-observing and non-other-observed” (Ibid.)

It would be interesting to find out if self-observation makes sense in a way or other for plants, animals (specially higher vertebrates) and societies.
