A structured behavioral model that orients behavior in specific circumstances.
The concept has been developed by R.C SCHANK who hypothetizes that we possess “memory organization packets”, in fact connected stories, gathered from former experiences, which are at our disposal everytime we find ourselves in a situation that acts as a trigger.
He gives as an example “restaurant behavior”, as different from “fast-food behavior”. The model has been experimentally confirmed by computer modelizations, wherein the program stores experiences that can be reused in similar cases (1995, p.151-2).
