Object type Methodology or model

A rule defining in which way rules should be applied (E. BUCHBERGER, 1987, p.31).

A meta-rule is on a higher level of abstraction than the rules it controls. Its characteristics depend however of the nature of the possible interactions between subordinated rules. This feature is present in any hierarchically complex system, as well as in RUSSELL's and WHITEHEAD's theory of logical types.
