The possibility of reappearance of some characterized context or situation, as perceived by an observer.
G. BATESON considers “The conventional assumption that context can be repeated, at least in some cases … as a cornerstone of the thesis that the study of behavior must be ordered according to the Theory of Logical Types…Without the assumption of repeatable context… it would follow that all 'learning' would be… zero learning” (1973, p.259).
Of course, repetition of context is never perfect. It is only indispensable that it be sufficiently repetitive to allow for anchoring a useful understanding of some observed phenomena or for some behavior coherent with formerly learned properties of the context.
