- “The relation between two systems who are independent from each other” (P. VENDRYES, 1973).
In VENDRYES words: “Relations between two systems are deterministic when they are connected and random when independent from each other” (1973, p.7). “Independent” here means that both systems are determined by causes which are not linked.
A similar random relation exists when a system suddenly receives unforeseen inputs: somebody travels to some place and, precisely there is killed by an earthquake.
A defined relation starts to establish itself when the contact is established and is thus in many cases largely unpredictable. This concept has produced recently in France the appearance of consultants who scout still ignored new technological developments which could later influence existing enterprises.
