PROCESS MODEL
- “An organized arrangement of systems concepts and principles that portray the behavio r of a system through time ”(K. BAUSCH, Glossary, pers. comm., 2002)
BAUSCH adds: “Its metaphor is the ”motion —picture“or ”movie“of the system”(Ibid)
In fact, the choice of the “concepts”and “principles”is of enormous importance.
There are many kinds of processes, as for example different types of growth processes; continous discontinous processes (cyclical processes of various types, self —organized criticality , equilibria of different types, synergetic processes)
The modelling of any process implies either an interpretation of experimental results, or the selection of a specific model, in an hypothetical way to begin with. Generally both modes of reworking of the data must be simultaneously used.
The difficulties are still more severe when modelling human economic, or social processes, due to the psychological and cultural aspects of model selection.
