This group has been created in 1992 in Tokyo by Makiko OKUYAMA, of the Ohmiya Child Health Center (2-24-1, Toro-Cho, Ohmiha-Shi, Japan 336)

It is an interdisciplinary group whose members come from “management science, information science, physiology, public health and psychiatry”.

M. Okuyama states: “the name” post-cybernetics was used because the word “cybernetics” strongly reminds people of mechanical and engineering feedback systems and, besides we wanted to pursue the new meta-disciplinary concept , and not just to be limited to the conservative cybernetics“.

More members have joined the group. “Their specialities are artificial intelligence , engineering, cognitive science, sociology , accounting, marketing, and so on.”

The group has a monthly conversation “which includes a lecture and discussion.”

The above information has been published in Cybernetics and Human Knowing, 2(3), 1994

The present situation of this Group is unknown to this editor.
