This national systems society has been created in 1995 by a group of polish systemists ar the Technical University of Wroclaw, under the leadership of Prof. Mieczyslaw BAZEWICZ.

The objectives of the PSS include “inspiration, support and providing of systems research and inquiry, formation and development of systems education and culture, creation and development of systems methodology with an interdisciplinary scope, as well as the popularization of a wide-conceived systems knowledge”.

This programme is exposed in details in the first issue of the Journal “Systems” (Journal of Transdisciplinary Systems Sciences) whose publication was also started in 1996.

The Polish Systems Society is affiliated to the International Federation of Systems Research. It established a network of collaborators in quite a number of countries in Europe, North and South America and East Asia.
