The production and reproduction of internal structures within a system.
This is properly the whole activity of the system as considered by the autopoietic theory of MATURANA and VARELA.
The internal structures are either biological or neurological. At the human level the self-reproducing body is the sine qua non condition for the creation of information , i.e. the well-connected and evolving frames of references .
