“A specific function (activity, process) of a sensory system and of the plastic neural systems directly coupled to it” (M. BUNGE, 1979, p.152).

BUNGE gives the term “percept” as a synonym for “perceptual system”. In order to avoid confusions with the commonly accepted meaning given to “percept”, it seems better to retain the latter expression.
