Overstocking is a frequent systemic pathology. It is one of the characteristic forms of environmental abuse described for instance in G. HARDIN's “Tragedy of Commons”.

Overstocking is an insidious phenomenon, that people remain unaware of, until very dangerous thresholds are approached… or crossed. Many processes of this type are currently on the march in ecosystems, economics, uses of natural resources, etc…
