- “Mass-energy, of wave-corpuscular aspects, developing in space-time as differentiated systems”.
The Spanish systemist R. RODRIGUEZ DELGADO introduced this synthetic concept, which reflects the artificial character of our mental disjunctions (of perceptive origin) when we conceptually separate mass, energy, space and time.
RODRIGUEZ DELGADO states: “The matergon concept offers a way to reach an integrated idea of natural, conceptual and artificial systems, connecting the philosophical abstractions with scientific and humanistic models” (1991, p.5-6).
The neologism seems useful as a permanent reminder that our way of splitting our knowledge of the universe into categories is probably a simple (or complex!) mental artefact, even if it is unavoidable.
RODRIGUEZ DELGADO explains at large the various aspects of the proposed concept in his last work (1997, p.43-51).
