As a concrete example, the structures of crystals are lattices.
Lattices can be represented by closed graphs, oriented or not. They are basically entailment structures.
As a result they can be used in the algebraic description of networks, as shown by P.H. ROOSEN-RUNGE (1966, p.14), and in the representation of any organized structure.
