In mathematics, the point of a curve where the tangent crosses it.

The logistic curve, for example, has an inflection point where the acceleration factor becomes dominated by the braking one, i.e. where the positive feedback becomes slowed down by a negative one.

Inflection points are very important to observe because they signal a basic change of the trend.
