A sudden and more or less complete inward collapse of a group of elements.

This process may create a system out of formerly unconnected elements, as for example in a star's formation; or a quasi system as for instance a locusts swarm. According to B. WALLISER it corresponds to the increase of the interactions among elements (1977, p.84).

It leads to growing reciprocal constraints through an increasing number of new associations that tend to become correlated, as well as structurally and functionally permanent.

It is however also possible that an excess of constraints could produce a more or less total freeze of the interrelations, leading to a kind of blockage or paralysis and ensuing destruction.
