The set of processes that are exclusive characteristics of some type of components in a concrete system (adapted from M. BUNGE, 1995, p.34).

BUNGE adds: “This concept is necessary… in order not to ascribe any finality to things as cells , plants, businesses or governments - that cannot conceive finalities because they do not have frontal lobes” (Ibid).
