A flow that works in a constant stable way without using counter-aleatory reserves .
Tense flows are a possibility when the environment provides permanently the needed resources without excessive variations.
It implies the existence of an internal adaptive mechanism within the system that allows it to increase or decrease (within limits) its use of the resource in accordance with its availability .
It has been discovered for instance that fish, molluscs and shellfishes (crabs, lobsters) have a low level of blood oxygenation which allows them when needed, to survive in more or less anoxic environments.
