A tree-like network model extended in the time dimension, used for the chronological ordering of a series of tasks related to a complex undertaking.
I.G. BLOOR describes the basics of the technique as follows: “Float calculations indicate where there is spare time in the network and ”critical path“ highlights which particular sequence of activities within the project determines the minimum completion time” (1987, p.32).
These models are very useful to avoid contradictions or unduly slowdowns. They should however be frequently monitored and eventually adapted to new circumstances that may appear.
