Concept:Theory
Theory is here undestood in the broad sense of a coherent body of knowledge about a given object domain. If they are formalise we speak of 'axiomatic theories', but we often deal with non-formalised theories. In the interdisciplinary undertaking to which glossaLAB is committed, theories of both types constitute prominent objects of interdisciplinary clarification; though interpretation conflicts are more likely to appear in non-axiomatic theories. Appealing to the ethimological sense (derived from the Greek θεωρειν) as looking at/observing an object field, it is a paramount goal of interdisciplinary understanding getting to know how this objecte field is seen from the different angles of the summoned knowledge domains.
