The hexagonal symmetry, that appears in many spatial distributions, seems to be a result of equalizing reciprocal pressures.
While pressure seems to expand as a field radially from a center and generate concentric circular boundaries of equal pressure, the reciprocal limits of different fields tend to adopt regular polygonal layouts, in accordance with the trend to fullest possible occupation of available space.
