P. VENDRYES writes:“…a deterministic process can be fulfilled in one, and only one, way.
- “This condition of fulfillment has two consequences: (1) the deterministic process is predictable, and (2) it is in principle reversible. Therefore there are three characteristics of a perfectly deterministic process: uniqueness, predictability and reversibility” (1989, p.148).
Of course, real processes are not that pure: they have contexts. In a system, any process is functional or, eventually, abnormal or pathological and, thus, submitted to conditions existing within the system. The same is true for processes connecting the system with its environment. Many events that may influence the process do not depend from it and, moreover will put predictability more or less in jeopardy when they become connected.
